I read a book that I took from the library today, it's called
The Smart Girl's Guide To College by Cristina Page. Reading it, I noticed several things...
- You should never pick a college/university just because it is famous, pick one that supports your lifestyle, and beliefs. For example, how far do you want your college to be from home? What is the female to male students ratio? How do the students party? This can affect your student life in many ways, so think carefully! Don't just attend a college because it looks good, or it has a good name! Do your own research, and find the one that suits you most. Besides, it's better to graduate from a decent university than to NOT graduate at all from a university that is too hard for you.
- Are you old and mature enough? In college, drug activities, smoking, drinking, are a part of the student life. You have to make sure that you are up to all the new experiences, so that you won't suffer from too much culture shock, and that you are able to control yourself.
- What kind of school would you like to attend? A big school? Small school? In bigger colleges/universities, one lecture can have over 400 students, crammed in one room. You will pass students you have never met in the corridors, and the professors will not remember you, out of the thousands of other students. In a small college/university, on the other hand, classes are only made up of a few people, and professors like to interact with students, being not only a teacher, but also a friend to them.
...And many more of those stuff.
It's crucial to make the right decisions, so I hope you, my friends, can think carefully before you make a choice. =)
Laters~! Gotta feed Gucci.
