Our Second 2-hour Break
Monday, June 30, 2008
Today we Design students had our second 2-hour lunch break.
Armed and ready, we set off to Pacific Place - my new place to hangout. Scratch TA.
After 20 minutes of exploring two floors of restaurants, we decided (finally) on
Spaghetti House. Thing is,
Spaghetti House was having the Buy Two Pay For One system!!! Awesome. My lunch
costed around
Rp 27,000. Provided the place was comfortable, clean, and the serving was a lot, I'd say it's a pretty good price.
My new feature:
Notice the very romantic hand-gripping and their very cute expressions. Lol.
We are the three and only girls of Design stream 2008:
I forgot to mention this, but there are now 3 new additions to our Arts + Design stream. Male. Their names are ADITYA (lol) and Albert. =D Two A's. Today, ex-BBS friend Charles came along to join the Arts Stream.
So Aditya & Charles = Social Arts. Albert = Design.
Martin trying to be cute:
Martin trying to be model-ish:
Out came the main dishes. Mine came out last along with Listy's =.=
Mine always comes out last for some reason.
Chicken Cordon Bleu. The result of BBS Canteen nostalgicness =D
Next stop: Toilet.
This picture is put up here for the sole purpose of granting Petrick's narsisstic wish.
So right click and save, Petrick. =_="
Weird expressions:
Be hearing from us soon =D

Saturday - Sunday

Note: This post contains things from Saturday AND Sunday. I will tell you which is when.SATURDAY

Move rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
Funny movie, that. Cute. Very cute. I watched this in the morning. It is about Vegas. More relevance on this later.
So at night, my family we went to Pacific Place to eat RAKUZEN, Japanese restaurant at the 5th floor.

I ordered Salmon Onigiri as a side dish. My first time eating an onigiri! (lame) The rice was very sticky and well, it was pretty okay. Not that great though.

My main dish! Chicken katsujyu, which basically is fried chicken cutlet plus egg topped on rice. Sadly it didn't live up to my expectations. There was too little sauce and I had to add a LOT of soy sauce and chili pepper just to bring some taste out.

My brother ordered Unagi Kabayaki set.

Whoa. Big slab of eel there. Again, not much taste. They didn't have enough unagi sauce on it, and when we ordered for some sauce, it took around 10 minutes just for the waitress to get it. And that was after we asked from 2 other waitresses.
BAD SERVICE. I understand that it is a new restaurant, but it was already up since last week, and STILL bad service. Consider staff training.
My dad's order, Inaniwa Udon:

If I were to make a list of my favourite features of RAKUZEN restaurant, I would put the variety of food at number one. Especially Ayu fish, which I really wanted to try out. It's fish with sweet meat. And brings a lot of health advantages. I wanted grilled Ayu, but it was sold out and we ordered Ayu Tempura instead. It was still pretty good though.
Right. Back to Inaniwa Udon...
Notice it is cold noodle, like Soba. But it's NOT Soba.
Watch my father have his first try with this cuisine...

And he says...

Yay! =D Maybe you guys can order that on your visit to Rakuzen.
After dinner, we spontaneously bought tickets for the movie 21. No plans at all. Since it started at 9, we went shopping first.
M Pacific! The department store. Spell Jakarta Great Sale.
We saw this really cute Teenage Millionaire tee with the writing "Jesus is my Homeboy". Hilarious. But that's for boys. The one for girls says "Jesus walks with me". So I bought that.
My brother and I:

Look below! Aren't they cute??? I've always love those teddy bears. Never knew what they're called though :S

The movie starts. Turns out the movie is also set in VEGAS. I watched two movies set in the same place today! Ha!

I think the main character (what's his name again?) is very cute. Choi I find attractive for his style and his sunnies, which I love. Jill looks gorgeous!
The storyline is twisted, and shocked me several times. Overall I grant it 4 stars out of 5.
Throughout the movie though, the damn guy behind me kept kicking my chair!!! I was really pissed. I glared at him several times but he was too blind to his surroundings to notice. What was he, playing footsie with the girl beside him???
I was on the verge of giving him the finger. Fingering my big black bangle, I toyed with the thought of throwing that thing at his face. That would hurt, yes.

What is with people who have no courtesy in public anyways??? STOP KICKING THE DAMN CHAIR IN FRONT OF YOU!!! He's 20-ish and yet so inconsiderate. Anyways.
SUNDAY

Lol. I watched Shutter this morning. It wasn't that scary. Wasn't too creepy. Wasn't "thought-provoking" as a review said. Well, maybe thought-provoking in the sense that after the movie was over, I didn't know to pity Megumi the ghost, or Ben. Both are at fault in some way :S
But what's with all this film remakes?
Personally, I like the original Asian versions of The Ring, The Grudge, One Missed Call, and people say Thailand's version of Shutter is also better.
Why remake it? =_=

Movie rating: 2.75 stars out of 5.

Say Hello to Micky!
After Uniprep today, I went to Chu's house. I PLANNED to sleepover, but after a few hours of anime-watching, PS2-playing, Ellen Degeneres-rejecting, I felt my temperature rise. Literally. This is the SECOND time I've had a fever at Chu's house. I asked myself why.
This is probably why:

If my momma were there, she would have spanked Chu and enslaved that girl to start CLEANING HER ROOM. It is crazy, I tell you. Books, papers, random stuff all around her table, floor, bed. PS2, Wii, Anime, DVDs are all dumped into one small cabinet under the TV.
Her curtain is never pulled back to allow the good sunlight in, and her window is always shut. Micky shares the room with her, and the bedroom has its own toilet. The door is also kept shut. The air con is damn cold too.
I called my mother, asked her to pick me up. After that, I went out of Chu's room, then instantly, like magic, I felt my fever start to dissipate. Funny?
Anyway, we went to Chu's mother's room. We checked out her photo album back when she was a young kid...

At that age, she already knew the taking-a-picture-facing-a-mirror trick.

That, people, is her first kiss. With god knows who.
Following, we had a little karaoke session, where we sang Pieces Of Me, A Thousand Miles, Let's Get It Started, Shut Up, Too Little Too Late, and Leave (Get Out). By then, my driver was already there, so I left.
I called my mom, already feeling better, and she told me there is a great sale. Yes, guys, the
Jakarta Great Sale is here!!! Parisian up to 50%, Zara also 50%. Boy was I pumped up. I ended up shopping at Parisian until 9.30pm.
Big shopping bag:

Inside of it...

Tadaa xP
For dinner, which me, my mom and brother had at 10-ish, we had a "Dumpling Party" at that restaurant at TA... We ordered 3 kinds of dumplings and La Mien. I also had golden duck as appetizer! Yumm!
And that... concludes my day! ;p
Go shop, guys. Don't miss out on the
Jakarta Great Sale!!!

The Fact About Men
Thursday, June 26, 2008
During English class today, we had to read an article about "The Laws of Attraction", which was actually from
Science magazine (or something like that). The article states that...
- Generally, while women look for wealth and commitment in a man, men tend to priotitize a woman's physical appearance more than anything else.
- Women seek partners who are "at their same level", while men tend to go for the "highest standard" woman.
Those two are probably the most intriguing things in the long (boring) essay. And, it was said to be scientifically proven. I didn't believe it though, until I had this conversation with a guy whose name I shan't mention (or you girls will flame him). So let's name him X.
X says that the essay is 100% true. Boys are extremely affected by a girl's appearance. No matter how kind or nice a girl is, if she is not physically attractive, he will not bother to date her. I told X, "surely not all boys are like that???" but he said that only a very small percentage of boys will oversee the physical appearance. It is not that they mean to be like that, but it's just in their nature.
Okay, maybe just asking one guy is not accurate enough. But hey. A guy has guy friends, and they are sure to share stories. And if X says most boys are like that, I'm guessing they are.
This probably explains why, like Chu says, God created more pretty girls than handsome boys. Since girls don't prioritize a guy's look as much as boys do, the balance is created. Maybe this is also why God created the inventor of "make-up", and fashion designers. Maybe it is also why, for some reason, make-up is only worn by us females. Well, some guys do wear it, for special occasions like photoshoots or weddings, but only a little.
Oh. And the essay also states that while women likes men with medium built, men likes thin women. Unfair much?
Haha, don't flare me, boys ;p

Okay

I don't know, but I just had to post that up lol my Dad's in this business magazine and he wrote freaking much. 90% of which I couldn't understand, it being in bahasa, and it being business language.
So great news, guys! I'm done with my first design assignment. FINALLY. It's due tomorrow. I recreated my whole assignment, since my first try was extremely bad. Well... not like my second is good, but it's slightly better at least =_= SLIGHTLY.
But that is not the end of my suffering. Oh no no no. In one day (Tuesday), we were given out TWO more assignments. Hohoho...hohoho... *stabs self and dies*
Umm okay what do I have to say for the day? (The rhyme was not intentional)
I haven't touched my violin in almost a month.
I had lunch at Ikan Bakar Putra Bone today with Arts & Design students.
I want to go to Mangga Dua (sees Janet's blog and drools).
I want to paint my nails but don't know what colour.
I'm feeling awkward 'cause Ratna keeps asking me what level I am in MoF... :S
I sense a cat fight, potential.
I'm still shocked over what Angelita told me through SMS today xDD
I haven't watched La Corda since 2 weeks ago.
Alrighty. Gonna go guys. I just wanted to show you that pic. Lol.

Major confusion.
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
Omg, as I typed the title just now, about to type something that meant 'confusion about my major', I realised that
Major confusion could mean two things, and they both apply to me right now! Ha!
...Okay. Random. Unimportant. Let's get to the gist.
I had an assignment due Thursday, but some students already finished it today (Tuesday), and brought it to the class. On the weekends, I had trouble doing my assignment, squeezing brain juice for something close to CREATIVE. It's not easy, I tell you. Plus all those years back in Bina Bangsa School when the art teacher tells us to do art assignments, and all I did was a simple, round,
Poring sculpted out of styrofoam. Others put in much more effort into their work. I never really cared.
How was I to know that recklessness could get me in so much trouble??? I now lack in imagination, creativity, and motivation in Art. I am so doomed.
My two fellow classmates today casually took out their assignment, and I was in
shock. Shock at the grandness, marvelousness, creativeness, and the godliness of their work. I thought the students from last year did awesome work... well, my batch did better. Oh. More pressure. Great. They upped the ante, just like that.
If compared to my work, the difference in standard is obvious. Clear as daylight. Knowing me, I started panicking, and thought to myself, "maybe Design is not my thing... maybe I should move to literature... Oh, better yet, I should just
skip college and university, then go on to work in Australia or something. I should be able to survive. Providing I seduce a rich man into my grasps and murder him for insurance and take all the cash in his bank account. (as quoted from my entry yesterday)"Seriously, I am a useless individual. I let myself calm down, and thought through it again. It
is the first assignment, and it's only the second week. I can't quit on everything now, can I? No way! Don't be such a quitter! Maybe the other students just have more experience in it than I do (for god's sakes, I didn't even think to use a cutter instead of scissors. laugh at me. design students would. I don't even have that pen cutter thing they use, or whatever they call it, I don't know... SEE MY POINT???).
I told my brother that I have zero talent (I might piss people off by saying this, they would be telling me how I do not appreciate what I already have). Or at least, I feel like I don't. He went into a lecture about how he had a friend in Malaysia who told him "You are so lucky you have talent. I want to be a band vocalist, but I can't sing." My brother told me, "I don't have talent in music either, Vin. But all this while, I have been better in playing the bass than anyone else. You know what? Talent can only get you this far. The rest depends on your hard work."
Makes sense. Too bad I'm not a very optimistic person. And I'm having PMS. Bwaha.
So what is the point and moral of this blog post? I advise those who are still in school to work hard in every lesson you have. Make use of it! Be serious when doing assignments! It is useful, trust me on this. I'm sure that everyone of you has heard an adult advise you with this same context, but I am a fresh graduate (okay, not really) from high school, and I'm only 16 THIS SEPTEMBER!!! So technically, I'm still 15. And I'm telling you to take your schoolwork seriously. Speaking from experience.
For now, I'll just work hard for my art skills. Maybe one day, soon, hopefully, I can catch up to my classmates. I have a group task soon and I don't want to be dragging down my partner T_T. Sorry Kevin for being paired up with me. Huaha.
Anyway. Enough of serious talk. Look what I bought today:

Yes, it's not her latest one, but I like this better! It has a really captivating fragrance. For me, at least. :)

Thank You Blogspot
Well, let's get straight to the point...
I'd like to thank Blogger for hosting this blog since 2006 for FREE, with no ads, and a large amount of memory to work with. Aside from the troubles with HTML layouts, blogger is relatively easy to use, and user-friendly.
My blog is really important to me. It is my hobby, my obsession, my autobiography,
my preccioouuss *smeagol tone*. So well, all I want to say is, thanks for making it all possible. =D Cheers~

Grr
Monday, June 23, 2008
I am freakin tired. MoF is annoying the hell out of me since my character keeps missing, and one monster kill only gets me as far as 0.3% experience. That for quite some effort. Plus, I still have my bloody Design assignment to do, in which I just
CAN'T think out something good to make, and I realise how bad I am in all these art stuff, and maybe it just isn't my thing. Maybe I should just skip college and university, then go on to work in Australia or something. I should be able to survive. Providing I seduce a rich man into my grasps and murder him for insurance and take all the cash in his bank account.
WHATEVER. Forgive me, I'm not thinking straight.
No, I AM thinking straight, what I mean is... Argh you know what I mean.
My brother says I complain too much. But seriously, I think I might be suffering from PMS. Every puny thing is getting on my nerves and I feel very murderous. I WANT TO DIEE!!! Oh god the emo-ness. No, sorry, I don't want to die yet. Girls just say things they don't mean when they have PMS. It
is what we
feel at the moment.
Forgive me ranting, I just really don't know what to do at the moment, and I need to let my inner turmoil out. Let's see...
I hate MoF.
I hate PMS.
I hate the MoF battle song.
I hate pink.
I hate hypotension.
I hate batik.
I hate nails.
I hate lips.
I hate my overly messy table.
I hate my design assignment.
I hate my uncreativeness.
I hate the design students from last year who made such damn good assignments and have the teacher show it to us and make us feel pressured coz it's so damn nice and creative.
I hate chocolate.
I hate barking dogs.
I hate motorcycles.
I hate how time flies so fast.
I hate the fact that something on my face is itchy.
I hate wearing glasses.
I hate it that humans have limited bladder capacity.
I hate it that I need to walk down 2 sets of stairs just to get a lame cup of water and quench my thirst.
I hate messy eyeliner work.
I hate genious people.
I hate my wardrobe.
I hate being stupid.
I hate my total lack of eagerness right now.
I hate Jakarta.
I hate pigs.
I hate the fact that if I don't stop myself, this list will never stop.
If anyone feels offended, don't be. Like I said, when the PMS is going, it takes over our healthy consciousness. And make us even more emo.

Receptionist Work
Sunday, June 22, 2008
Before I start, did anyone notice that last night's full moon was RED??? Freaky. Comments/explanations/witness testimony in tag board please.

Hello peeps! So it's Sunday, and I got another (wink wink) offer to work as a receptionist for my Uncle's sister's engagement party. Above is a picture of the four of us, the whole crew.
I played MoF early in the morning, so I didn't have time to do my hair and stuff (I even arrived late). Thus, I resorted to straight hair swept to one side, with a simple cat-eye stroke of black eyeliner.
My cousin Risa and I:

The guests were 85% old people, 10% adults, and 5% teenagers. Having some experience with receptionist work, Risa and I immediately got to the job the instant we reached there (30 minutes late). Risa wrote in the guest book and labelled the Ang-paos while I gave out the thank-you gifts.
Me and my brother:

I ate A LOT. I was so freaking full, and they were still serving dishes out. Risa and I withdrew from the battlefield, and sat around the receptionist table. We became bored, and then resorted to narcism =p.
I like this photo!:
(Risa's back)

Wow my hair shines nicely here =D :

I don't know about this pose, it looks as though I was suffering a toothache :S

We were bored, yes:

Did you all know that my dress was SO long, that it went like this when I sat down...
And not to mention the amount of times I tripped on my dress =.=
Hee I like this very fun photo:
Okay guys! That's it for now... I have SCHOOL tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it 'cause I really want to play MoF! Arrgghh!!! Chu's level is already higher than mine! Arrgghh!!!
