A Day With Susan... again
Wednesday, February 18, 2009
As I was typing the blog title, I thought of "A Day With Susan"... but... apparently, I already have a blog post with that title...so...
Anyway!
This morning I went to Suze's house. I brought all my violin books...... Suzuki Book 1, 2, 3, 4, and two gigantic thick files containing music sheets. Oh I left my Suzuki Book 5 at home since I can't even play a single song there yet. And along with them, I brought two violins. It shall be a musical day!~

We played Piano/Violin duets, Violin/Violin duets, and other times we just played our own songs. Sure is fun to make music together =)
And then at around 2:00PM, we went to Pan&Cook to have late lunch. Both of us had goulash soup, Smoked Beef pancake, and Teriyaki Chicken Salad. Everything was fine until we had to eat the salad... it was... like... awful............. and we both laughed at each other's pathetic faces as we forced the salad down our throats. In the end, I tucked a spoonful between the bowl and the plate so we didn't have to see it anymore. It was so sick, in fact, we covered the bowl with tissues so we need not see the sauce and be reminded of its horrid taste.
After lunch, we went home to Susan's again. We then checked out the nostalgic pieces of papers which she kept since primary school and all that. Some papers contained actual letters. According to Susan, I loved to write on other people's notebooks. And on hers, I wrote a letter "Dear Susan..." which asked questions such as "how old are you now?" and "am I married to a rich husband?". So I guess it was meant to be something like a time capsule.
There were many such letters, and one of them said that Susan and I met when we were 10 years old...... TEN!!!!! O_O wow. so so young. Now we are 17... Therefore, we decided to write letters again in that same notebook. For old time's sake. And we wrote all sorts of random things.
Ahh... time capsules are fun. You guys should do it too.
Oh and I forgot to mention that we played.... Barbie......................... Yeah Barbie. And it was horrid fun. We laughed so much, I lost so much energy and got tired. I actually took a video of the Britney Barbie. Susan controlled the Barbie's movements, and I sang the song "Oops I Did It Again". I think we were rather high.
Then, we went to her room and drew a whole A3 drawing of a Barbie House. Complete with a garden in front with 2 Kellys, 2 Barbies, and 2 Kens. The Kens were soooo ugly cos we had no idea how to draw them and it was so funny. I drew armpit hair on Susan's Ken =)
Anywho, we then migrated to my house. Suze and I wanted to play Sims 2.
We created our family under the last name Barbie (getting sick of this word I presume?). And it took us soooooooooooo long to furnish our home. It was ridiculous. But we loved how the house turned out though. I WANT THAT HOUSE O_________O!!!
This is Susan's room:
My room:

Yeah I know my room looks like some motel room from a movie about murderers going after a group of college students. But yeah. Whyever not.
Also, if you're wondering about the baby crib I put in my room, Susan and I wanted to have babies immediately. And our neighborhood had like... no decent looking guy. In the end Vina Barbie adopted a baby. Will talk about that later.
Vina and Susan Barbie:

Isn't it great how our undergarments contrast in colour?
How Susan Barbie sleeps:

Yes and so, at 10:00AM Sims time, the baby arrived!!!
We were wondering what name to give. It was a baby boy. And naturally, Susan exclaimed "KEN!" So Ken it was.

It was weird though everytime one of us says something like "I need to feed Ken", "We forgot to give Ken a bath!", "Ken is so cute!!!" etc etc etc.
Vina playing with Ken:

Susan feeding Ken:
Vina gives Ken his bath:

Ken's birthday, turns into a toddler:
Finally, I listened to Susan and made a baby room for Ken:

"Serve Ken food".... my avatar doesn't seem very happy.

And then, it was Ken's birthday again! He turned into a child!!!

Let us see what kind of child Ken turns into...
Oh my he actually rather resembles the actual Ken from Barbie =s
As he grew into a child, I renovated his room by selling off baby crib and potty etc.

On another Sims 2 note, look at how much Susan Barbie admires Vina Barbie!!!

And now look what I made her do:
=D isn't it fun

Hello.
Yes I know I haven't been updating. Nothing to update about really! All I've been doing is pigging at home, playing Lineage II all day. And you surely don't want to hear about my Lineage 2 adventures.
But today, something worth blogging about actually happened.
So Susan came to my house today. We worked on her photoshop assignment (well, okay, more like she did. I took my shower and played around), and after that we went to puri. Shopped, and had dinner. We shared a bowl of Ca Ciang Mien. It turns out that after years of being close friends, I never noticed that we eat noodles differently...
She would slurp all the noodles all in. And if the noodle doesn't end, she wouldn't stop slurping it in until it does. I wondered how she contained it all in her mouth. On the other hand, I slurped a bit, and then bit the noodle off.
Well... you must be wondering why I'm blogging about this. Why I'm telling you these insignificant details. However, it
is significant. For I want to record my youth in this blog. I want to look back and be able to remember everything in the years to come.
And then we went back to my house. Susan told me we should start packing for my departure to Australia since it might just be in a few days. So we did.
I picked out clothes from my wardrobe, threw them onto my bed. Susan was in charge of folding them (she is darn good at this I swear). For some of the clothes I had to ask her "how boud ziz?" and she would either say "yes", "leave it", or shrug her head backwards slightly with an uncertain look.
We sat on the floor. I kept asking her for opinions. Many times, she would reminisce the times she saw me in that certain outfit. And just by sorting out clothes, we remembered fragments of our past. For a moment I saw her she seemed like a mother, or a sister.
And when her phone rang yet again for the thousandth time, she decided it's time to go. I walked her to the front gate. She opened the door of her car, stood, smiled and waved at me. I smiled and waved back, slightly more awkwardly. Why was it awkward? It's because the unsual, in a deeper sense unfamiliar gesture of smiling and waving seemed so... distant.
For when she got into her car, with its tinted windows, and when it went away, my surroundings abruptly sank into quiet and solitude. The little chit-chats and giggles were shunned away. I opened my bedroom door to this big, white luggage, and clothes littered on the floor. It was terribly sad. And though it never struck me before, I now understand what's so miserable about saying goodbye.
Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never ever the same. -- Flavia WeednLabels: farewell, goodbye, Lineage 2, Susan Limanto
Sleepover... without the sleeping part

So as some of you know, I have my 4th design project, Lamp Design due soon... Next Thursday to be exact... We are supposed to design our own lamps which shows an Australian feature.
My first design was to create something based on the Aboriginal flag. So I created this, which is still incomplete by the way:
Uh that's only the rough model. I used normal paper there. Yesterday, I went to those shops by the roadside selling building materials and found a material similar to one I wanted:

So I bought it for Rp 60,000. 2 metres.
Everything was going to plan... UNTIL!!!
I made the rest of the design, and the whole thing turned out looking like crap! And thus, I decided that I would change the whole of my design. Anyway, my teacher already commented that those sort of lamps are too common already.
So I spent a whole day thinking... and googling...
Finally I was inspired by a picture of an architectural building I had since quite long ago. I decided to make that. I drew rough sketches.
And then I stopped.
I was... confused. Period. Though it looks simple at first glance, my design is actually rather tricky to make! Especially since the material I already have is quite hard. Started to panick. Then I went to make a call to Susan.
Susan helped me make my 3rd design project, which is my wearable design. We fought through black coloured straws which was peeling all over, tons and tons of double tape, UHU, and black acrylic paint. It was a pain. I couldn't have finished that project in time if it wasn't for her.
Okay back to present. I called Suze and begged her to come over to my house. So she did, and we discussed my designs so far. Then she looked at my design, and we looked at each other in silence for a while. Thinking.
Then we started making the rough model using paper. Susan did the calculations. We actually used tons of maths formula for this project... We used the pythagoras rule, the sin rule, cos rule, and one more which is s=r.(teta). Whoever knew we would actually use these for design! O_o
Finally, we completed the rough model, with calculations of all angles and lengths accurate.
The Australian feature used is the Sydney Opera House:
Actually, I wasn't even thinking of the Opera House when I drew out the design. They just happened to miraculously match.
However! At 9:00pm, Susan was told to go home! And she can never stay over at other people's homes, so we decided last minute that I would go to her house and make the project. I took a shower in the record breaking time of 5minutes.
At her house, we also did her graphic design assignment, which is to make a magazine. We managed to make 2 pages on fashion. Then we went back to the stupid lamp.
Well... I'm not going to describe everything... Just that the whole night consisted of coffee, back aches, shoulder aches, painful hips, paper, gigantic scissors, heavy cutting, x-method, more coffee, iTunes, brief explanation of the Aborigine's history since the British found Botany Bay, brainstorming, thinking, sketching, making small 3d models, thinking out possibilities, measuring, making holes with my compass, stringing pieces together with white strings, playing childish games...
Yeah most of the time we kept drifting off our initial design since it is too damn annoying to make but after lots of sketching of new designs, we still go back to the initial one -_-...
Anyway, you can go to Susan's blog to check out all the photos we took. I have none with me.
We didn't sleep at all. At 5:30AM, we watched the sun rise... unfortunately the sun was behind this stupid blue building, but seeing the sky brighten was satisfying enough since we usually wake up when it's already sunny and bright.
At around 7:00AM, I was already on my breaking limit.... My head was dizzy and my skin prickly. MY BACK AND SHOULDERS HURT LIKE HELL. I had to stretch so many times that night. Even watched this video on Youtube called something like the Top 6 Stretching Methods or the like... hohoho
But at 8:00AM, I was lying on Susan's couch and she was playing Yiruma so beautifully. After 3 songs I fell asleep. I woke up at 10:00AM with her family members bustling about. They have already seen my ugly sleeping posture I'm sure. Well whatever. I went home soon after that.
...Most importantly!
I want to thank my dear dear dear Susan. OMG THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH. I probably wouldn't even be able to do this whole thing if it weren't for you. And I made you not sleep even though this is my project. Ah see now I feel bad. And thank you for the food and drinks. Also for the wonderful Yiruma songs. I shall go download them now. Aah I don't know how to thank you enough =w=
Well, is all from me now. I cancelled all plans for today since I don't want to fall sick. I have my final exams in 2 weeks see. If possible I'd also like to finish off the lamp by Sunday. Ah well, wish me luck!!!

New Hair
Monday, October 27, 2008
I had that sudden urge to cut my hair again today! So I did~

Omg. My hair looks so so so so so so SOOOO horrible. It's not meant to look like that, but the hairdresser was stupid. The guy I usually go to was sick on that day. I guess it's also partly my hair's fault, the hairstyle suits thin hair better, and my hair was... well, super thick.
So here I am pleading, begging for a cure to my bad hair...

I was in tears, begging for someone to rescue me, the Princess of Roses and Sparkles.

AND RELEASE!
Tadaa! Super big act-cute puppy-eyed expression. Lol. Yes, feel free to puke if you must.
Anyway! It wasn't long till my saviour come. No, it's not Susan who came to my house to pick me up and go to Puri together, but my ultimate hero!
His name
is RUDI!!!

The big guy over there. He is the one and only person I can trust to hold a pair of scissors at my hair. I didn't want to wash my hair before the cut, and didn't blow it either after it was done. I was too lazy. So it took me only a mere 15 minutes visit to Jose Alexandre salon to erase the darkness of my hair's past.
=D
Yes! My hair is once again reunited into one whole piece! Now nobody will ever ask me if my long hair is extention! >________^

Like I said, didn't blow or wash hair. So don't mind the bends here and there. My hair is like that.

Yeah yeah I do have eyebags. Severe =D.... you know what I've never noticed this about myself before, but my upper lip has a really... really sharp... thing. Whatever you call it. Notice it? Yes? It's pointy.... O_o
So anyway, like I mentioned in my
mobile blog, I accomplished something with Suzie today. We actually beat the game of Time Crisis 2... x_x
Actually I play that game damn lot before... but I just never did try to finish the game. I always had to go somewhere in the middle of the game. Susan and I go well together in TC! =D We have chemistry! That's why our arms always release this spark whenever they touch. It hurts, by the way.

Susan The Hairstylist
Wednesday, October 22, 2008
Susan came over to my house today! As usual, it was a spontaneous unplanned visit. We ate in pannecook (sp?) at first then rode a mikrolet to my house, where I got started on more portfolio works.
Tried sketching some fashion designs inspired by seashells. They looked good at first, but when I re-drew them into clean crisp lines, THEY SUCK. SUUUUCKKKK. I spent hours working on two designs which I ended up not using anyway. So I was really getting depressed, and at the end of the day I picked out some old drawings I did and summing up, I realised I suddenly have... voila! 15 design works! O_O Very weird. Nonetheless, will do more tomorrow.
Oh so anyway. While I was sketching, Susan went along and did my hair. We took out all my ViVi, Nana, Mina, all the Jap fashion magazines, and Susan tried to follow the hairstyles. We wanted to make the buns, and this is how it turned out:
HAIRSTYLE #1We put my hair up into a tall bun, leaving the sides, and also a little bit on the back. Susan says I have Barbie hair. No, it's not exactly a compliment. It basically means that my hair is close to impossible to tie up, or style.
But hairstylist Susan did it anyway! Such expertise~!
...But not without tons of bobby pins and bitching around about my hair.

HAIRSTYLE #2Next style! A different kind of bun. Flatter, and has a clockwise direction to it. Might Susan be inspired by the seashell too like I was? She left my long hair hanging. It looks like a freaking wig.

HAIRSTYLE #3
Another bun hairstyle! Like the first one, but this time Susan didn't leave out any hair hanging except on the sides.
HAIRSTYLE #4
Haha. I don't know if this counts for anything but...yeah. The basic ponytail ^^"

My hair is hard work ain't it Suzie? ;)

I Rock
Friday, October 17, 2008
Hello readers. I know my blog sucks now =( I update less frequently.
So what's been going on with me? Well, many things. But I've been feeling rather down and empty and mostly:
BORED. I am bored. Oh am I really bored. Day by day passes by and I feel even more bored. I need some excitement and adventure in my life. =( This must be boring for you, reading about how bored I am. So let's skip all the pessimistic stuff okay, let's assume it's the PMS-induced emo-ness.
On the happier side of life, check out what is up on the UNSW Foundation Year Students web page...
Tadaa... =D Well now, let this poor girl brag a little will you? I got highest in class! Hahaha. I mean heck, when's the last time I ever stood first in class? WHEN??!?! Back when I was a primary school kid in Singapore. So yeah, let me brag :)
So with this result, I will apply for RMIT's Visual Communication course, which only requires... a GPA of 7.0 or 7.5 (can't remember). That's without a portfolio of 15 pieces of design works though. Crap. I haven't been dilligent with my art stuff and let me just say that 15 is a lot of art pieces to collect. Damn I have so much Design assignments to do... T_T
Yes anyway. I'm sure you all know that Susan is back from America =D *dances*
I went straight to her house and we chatted a LOT the day she came back. I just laid on her bed feeling all at home, trampling her mattress with my dirty muddy foot =D Anyway. That was 2 days ago. Back to present times. She came over to my house (it's nice to be neighbours)~
One thing weird about me is that I seem to always, somewhy, put on make-up when my girls come over. For some odd reason! They come over. "Hey let's curl your hair!" which later leads to "Hey! Let's put on some make-up!" and then "Hey change into this will ya?" and finally "Let's take pictures like mad!!!"
That's the reason why you will soon witness narcism from me again. But no, I didn't curl my hair or change into anything new. But I did put on my brand new dark purple MAC eyeshadow from Suzie as my birthday present xDD
A pic of us trying to have big, BIG eyes. You can see us straining our facial muscles. =D
I start to feel rather mischevious...
.jpg)
Susan notices I'm doing something weird, and looks at the monitor instead of the webcam...(while still keeping her smile)
I know I look fugly in that picture. But it just looks SO MUCH like Ragnarok Online's /e8 emoticon (my fave) that I can't help but post the photos up.

Nice pics to make up for the fugly ones? =D

This is a pic where you can really see the smoky purple eye make-up. I was having a webcam convo when I noticed this...lol

Ooohh... Thanks for the present, Susan =D Love it

See you Susan!
Tuesday, July 8, 2008

Today, we shall see our long-time friend Susan Limanto off. She's going to the big apple to continue her...well, not exactly education, so I'll use the word 'life'. So to Suzie, my poo, good luck, have fun, and keep in contact! :D Oh and sorry I couldn't be there to see you off on Monday. But hey, I took the liberty to write you a message on my very on face with a blow-kiss pose. Hehe.

A Day With Susan
Tuesday, July 1, 2008
So guess what?
I spent my day with Susan today after Uniprep. I haven't seen her in so long!!! Her dog, Cookie, is LARGE now. I was shocked. I remember it was tiny enough to fit in my palm and I could throw it from hand to hand. ;p (Sorry Susan, yes I did that)
We had lunch at Gokana. It costed as much as eating in Spaghetti House at Pacific Place -_-.
If you're curious, I was wearing my BBS Pre-U uniform because we Design students were having a dress code: uniform today.
Susan and I went to buy tickets for the movie, Get Smart. Then, we had an hour to spend, in which we took photobox pictures, bought nail polish and ****** (susan knows this, and you don't need to =p). We still had 50 minutes left and nothing to do!
So we went to ACE Hardware, and this was what we did...
Yeah, take pictures. =D
Secretly, which made it pretty exciting. We had to make sure the staff wasn't patrolling the area, then take pictures. It wouldn't be nice to be caught doing that >.<
^above: the red paper says "BEST BUY". But sorry, we're not for sale. And we don't only cost Rp. 5,980,000 =p
Susan was going to buy dog food for Cookie, and she was holding it all the time. Then, in the midst of picture-craziness, we went out of ACE through the back door to take pictures, and we realised...that we forgot to pay for the dog food!
^Susan in shock.
We went back in, paid, then ran out again.
I LOVE THIS PICTURE:
Susan sure is wonderful at taking pictures =D
Us, exposed:
After all that, we walked back to Cinema 21. The movie is starting! I was pretty excited.
HOWEVER, I was disappointed by the end of the movie. Either I was sick, and extremely sleepy so I didn't find the movie humorous, or it just plain wasn't. Sure, I laughed at some part, but the rest...was NOT worth laughing so hard for. And the people in the theater were. I didn't find those scenes funny, they're just lame and dry. Very, very disappointing. =_=
But alas, I have movies to look forward to. I can't wait to watch "Wanted" and "P2"!!! The trailers look amazing!
Well, that's it for the day. Susan's face says you should get out right now, AFTER you tag. Vina's having a killer headache, so she's not going to college tomorrow. *dances* See? Even with this headache I am blogging. Why? Cause Sam, Ken and Daryl are abusing my tag board.
